What is Assistive Technology?
Assistive Technology is defined as:
Any item, piece of equipment or product system, whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of children with disabilities.
Assistive Technology in the classroom:
Includes any tool or accommodation that assists individuals in the classroom to be included in educational opportunities. Assistive technology is another strategy for expanding a student’s access to the curriculum.
